We
had an opportunity to present The 15th International Shiatsu Conference
in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the Canadian Shiatsu
Society of British Columbia and the Canadian College of Shiatsu
Therapy. On the second day of the conference, free Shiatsu Workshop was
held at the UBC, with over 150 participants. Junichi Kurosawa sensei
and Yasutaka Kaneko sensei, instructor of Japan Shiatsu College
instructed Shiatsu for the sitting position. All participants practiced
shiatsu in pairs, played a role of a patient and a practitioner, by
watching Kaneko senseis demonstration on the screen. About 20 students
from the Japan Shiatsu College and the Canadian College of Shiatsu
Therapy assisted them individually to explain detail instruction on the
screen. As Kurosawa sensei and Kaneko senseis instruction was easily
understandable and considerate for beginners, the participants relaxed
in a few moments and enjoyed the Shiatsu experience.
カナダBC州指圧協会並びにカナダ指圧カレッジ創立10周年を記念し、第15回指圧国際大会がカナダバンクーバーにて開催され、大会第2日目にブリティッ
シュコロンビア州立大学において、一般の方々を対象にした無料指圧講習会が開催されました。第1部は日本指圧専門学校で講師をされている黒沢純一先生及び
金子泰隆先生が、「座位指圧」を実演指導。金子先生の施術する様子が、会場前方の大型スクリーンに映し出され、それに添う形で黒沢先生が解説という形式で
講習は行われました。参加者は、二人一組でペアとなり、一人は患者、もう一人は施術者となり、スクリーンに映し出される様子を参考にしながら見様見真似で
施術を行いました。また、20名弱の日本指圧専門学校及びカナダ指圧カレッジの学生がボランティアとして参加者一人一人に直接手を取り合っての実技指導の
補助を行い、スクリーン上では伝わりにくい細かな点をその場で改善。指圧を受けた事があっても、実際に施術に携わるのは初めてのため、始めは少々緊張した
様子の参加者でしたが、黒沢、金子両先生の初心者にもわかりやすくかつ丁寧、そして愉快な実技指導により、参加者の緊張はすぐにほぐれたようで、参加者
は、施術する事の楽しさを肌で体験した様子でした。
